Custom duty on information gathered from foreign vendor through automatic identification system

Indian Customs Act 1962 provides that any "Goods " as defined in the Acts comes in to India it is called Imported goods and Import duty is payable thereon as per the Customs Tariff Act. So in your case if Information is a Goods as per the Customs Act. 1962 and received from out side India then the applicable duty will have to be paid.
