CTP or regular GST registration

Hello everyone,

I have three queries, some made-up situations; please resolve-

A trader having business in UP goes for exhibition in another state:

1. If he's unregistered in Delhi. Will he require CTP registration or regular registration for the exhibition?

2. If he has a composition scheme in Delhi. CTP registration or regular registration for exhibition?

3. If he's registered in Delhi, then will he charge IGST in another state?

Thanks

Manish

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies GST registration requirements for traders attending exhibitions in states where they are not registered. It addresses scenarios for unregistered traders, those under the composition scheme, and already registered individuals, specifically focusing on the need for CTP (Casual Taxable Person) registration for interstate sales during exhibitions.

a) Yes he will take CTP registration for exhibition.

b) Cannot take neither CTP nor regular

c) For sales from exhibition CTP registration will be used.

Thank you so much, sir.
I'm confused about situation no. 2. Will there be any GST compliance for the exhibition?

Thanks

Manish

A composition taxpayer cannot sell interstate. There will be problems for transferring the goods.

If any other registration is taken by a composition taxpayer that will also be registered under composition scheme only.

Huge disadvantage in these types of cases.

Agreed
Agree with zafar sir

Thank you, sir.
