If u want to undertake interstate purchase or sale then u need to take CST registn inaddition to VAT regn.. Cform is a form prescibd under CST act . if u going for interstate purchase then you apply to ur local sales tax dept to issue or give Cform to u. Y u apply for cform is because wen u go for interstate purchase and if u submit dis cform to that interstate supplier, he will not tax u at his normal VAT(4% or 12.5%) rate but he 'll charge a reduced rate f 2%. this wil reduce ur cost f purchase.. remember that CST paid on purchase 'll not get input tax credit.
