Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the possibility of issuing a credit note for the financial year 2019-20. According to GST regulations, specifically Section 34(2) of the CGST Act 2017, credit or debit notes related to a specific financial year must be issued by the earlier of two dates: the due date for filing the September return of the subsequent financial year, or the filing of the GSTR 9 annual return. Therefore, for FY 2019-20, the deadline has likely passed.

If  you are  registered  supplier  GST  please  refer section 34(2)  of  the CGST  2017 .

No, you can not issue credit note

Date already expired
Dear sir, As per the provisions of CGST Act you can issue a credit/debit note relating to the sale or purchase of a particular FY on or before the 1. 3B due date for the month of September of the subsequent FY or 2. filing GSTR 9, whichever is earlier.
