The CPA course is a valued course all over the world. Not because it has value, not because it adds some knowledge to you, but because it is American and the world just licks anything American even if it is $hit made in America.
The system is $hitty and nonsensical in America and the process is purposely made complicated so that you either have to be stinking rich or have no other work to apply. The total cost is around 50,000 Indian + 65,000 if you are writing your exam in places other that in USA. if by chance you dont clear the exam the next time you write it is again 50K + 65K.
There are 55 States that participate in this exam - The exam is conducted by NASBA - one exam but 55 states have 55 different eligibility requirements because the political system is federal and not union like india. And all 55 states will make some or the other excuse to exclude any indian as much as possible. so that the europeans maintain their hold on the board.
For example if you write to new hampshire - the reply would be - We do not recognize the Institute of chartered accountants of India and any education from the ICAI would have nil value to us. you should ask any CPA from new hampshire to write the CA exam and he would definitely $hit in his own pants and drink his own pi -s but will not be able to clear the exam.
Now we come to colorado state board: they will say you are eligible and so and so ... once you pay the fees and everything is done they would put this excuse that you need a letter stating that you have US GAAS ( Generally accepted Auditing standards) in your Auditing course. Dont Get confused where as the eligibility document when you read it would say GAAS (Specifically exclude US word) because GAAS is nothing But Indian AAS (Auditing and Assurance standards.)
Superficially the Americans would show that they are for world peace and the society is all inclusive but hidden in their agenda is that they are sh*t scared of indian Chartered Accoutants acquiring their qualification in the international market and they would do anything possible under the sun to ensure that you are ineligible to write this exam. They are racists and very closed. They want the International market to open up to their companies but they would not want to open up their courses to the international market. They would take your money and want you to pay the fees but would make you ineligible and not refund your fees.
My advise is stay away from the American CPA and when you see an american CPA remember that the american CPA is just worth the Indian CA - foundation pass candidate. All the questions are Multiple choice questions in the CPA exam.
