Course validity query

Hello. I wanted to clarify the validity of my course. I cleared my CPT in 2017 and registered for Intermediate then. Critical family problems forced me to take up a job and drop out of the course but I always harboured a wish to get back to it some day.

After many trials, close to 7 years of struggling, I've finally found my way back to the course with hopes of finally getting to study and become a CA.

I had revalidated my registration in 2021 since Inter course validity was 4 years and they allowed one-time revalidation, according to that my course validity ends in August 2025.

I learnt there was a course conversion recently and checked my account on SSP portal. It shows re-registration date as 1 February 2024 and that course expires in 2029.

What is the expiry date of my registration? I've started slowly preparing for Intermediate exams. I don't know if I am eligible to take the September exams? I've finally found my way back to the course but there seems to be another hurdle in the way. Can anyone please clarify?

Congratulations on getting back to your CA course after a 7-year break.

To clarify, your Intermediate course registration validity initially ended in 2021, but you revalidated it, extending the validity to August 2025.

However, with the recent course conversion, your re-registration date is now February 1, 2024, and your course expiry date is 2029, as per the SSP portal.

This means you can breathe a sigh of relief, as your registration is valid until 2029.

You're eligible to take the Intermediate exams, including the September exams.

Before filling out the exam form, ensure you have a valid login ID and password on the Self-Service Portal (SSP).

If your photograph and signature are not available or are not of acceptable quality, upload the documents on the SSP portal [4).

To confirm your eligibility and exam schedule, visit the ICAI website or contact their support team. You've come a long way, and it's great to see you're back on track to becoming a CA.
