Even a courier has to go thru all custom formalities. Make sure that the courier agency gives you the shipping bill copy as proof of export which is a critical document for exports. And please note that you have to maintain inward remittence proof for all exports that are received within 180 days (must) of export. Proof remittence is usually in the form of FIRC or BRC which banks, in the normal course, would provide. If your paypal ac is associated with your bank, check with your banker or else with the paypal whether they have any such authority to issue FIRC or BRCs

Hey Ajit,

A related question - if one has to send low value shipments (under $100), is there a provision for it? Most marketplaces mark the parcel as "Sample" and bypass customs - but that ways it both not legal plus you don't get any export benefit.

If the low value shipment is sent commercially, you need to send along 6 documents (some multiple copies) and that just is not worth the effort. Plus you need to close the loop with DGFT + RBI with regards to payments against that particular shipping bill.

Hope you can shed some light on this!

Samraat
