I am not going to discuss why Fresh CAS not getting a job  but rather tell You in my life Having worked in Industries and met many of them I found only one who had tremendous practical knowledge .This doesnt mean mean I am underestimating any of them.The fact remains that even the practising chartered accountants are not up to the mark to gear challenges and know what is the amendment.To tell frankly our company is subject to cost Audit .No one including the top management and the statutory auditor is aware of the same.They dont know even the business process flow and how that was routed in our SAP Package  while conducting an audit..Business nowadays are very dynamic and only few of them could cope and live with challenges..We dont get any exposure on Treasury Management though we study a little about Forex in SFM but there needs to be a lot of expertise to shine in this area .Our CA Curriculum has not addressed these issues to a great extent so far

First I would like say that there is no need to worry. Ups and downs in the professional and other fields are quite normal. So there is no need to panic. Just have faith in your ability and things will be all right soon.

All we need is to focus on our goal i.e. becoming a superb professional with gr8 knowledge and working attitude.

Now let us investigate the reason behind this situation. According to me perhaps we have forgotten the real meaning of education. Personally I feel that the motive of any sort of study or professional course is to educate us. Probably in the current situation we are not able to produce good professionals. But all this is in our hand and am sure we will soon overcome this problem.

CA CS is not a Pressure Cooker !!!

Hello Everybody,

Today I wanted to share and touch a burning topic connected with our lives, our studies, our attitude and thinking and our families. Over a period of time I have observed that exam success has become such a stress full and pressure building exercise for students that it would not be wrong to call it a Pressure Cooker. So I just wanted to ask you people -- is CA CS or other professional examinations are really a Pressure Cooker as far as professional success is concerned? If not then why there is so much mental pressure to clear exams, to get rank, to finish study, to get a good job, to earn, which for few unfortunate people leads to suicide and other harsh steps? Life is not to be treated as a Pressure Cooker. It is to be enjoyed by us in a balance way.

Now let us investigate the reason behind this situation. According to me perhaps we have forgotten the real meaning of education. Personally I feel that the motive of any sort of study or professional course is to educate us. If someone is consistently got failed in spite of real hard work than that does not mean that he/she is not educated or has no potential to do something in life or not meant for civil society.

According to me our future is in our hands and lies in our positive thinking. If you look around you will find lot of good and successful people who never thought of doing CS or CA or any such professional course. Here I want to say that if you are doing any professional or any other course all you need to focus on the real education or knowledge or attitude. Your efforts should be honest. For me the meaning of real education is develop wise thoughts within you, respect others, understand the feeling of others and set yourself free from the very harsh objectives.

Here again I’d like to clarify that all material things are equally important in life but they should not be considered as priority. Our first priority in life should be to convert ourselves into a good human being through the real education. I think this is the only way out to set yourselves free from any sort of pressure in life and make your life smoother. I promise later on you’ll be able to achieve and enjoy everything in your life with better satisfaction. 

Monetary satisfaction should not be the criteria to choose professional course

According to me Money should not be the criteria to choose professional course in the beginning. You should not opt for any course based on starting salary or amenities etc. Here all you need is to look and figure out your interest and passion towards your studies. To avoid any sort of pressure during study is to realize your interest and potential to achieve the desired goals.

On the monetary requirement I’d like to say those who are well educated (not necessarily a hi-fi professional but know how to behave well) can make money out of anything. So the moral behind the situation is don’t go behind the bookish knowledge and start your search for real knowledge so that the real knowledge maintain its identity in today’s blind race.

How to come out of this pressure cooker

The only way out to come out of this pressure cooker is to just have confidence and faith on your efforts. I have seen here in CCI forum that lots of students start feeling depressed and disappointed after their negative results. I just wanted to ask --- what is the point of depressing yourself or building unnecessary pressure? What I understand from the current situation is that the first few days after result are very crucial because they can break you. Here at this point support of someone is a much needed medicine. To conclude I would say just one thing prepare first list including the things you have in your hand provided by God. After that prepare a second list of the things you don’t have. Trust me you’ll always find first list heavier and you should be thankful to God for this. So the message is enjoy life with a balanced approach and with first list items and slowly strive for the items mentioned in second list. But please stay away from unnecessary pressure. If your efforts are honest than very soon you’ll find that all the items mentioned in second list has been transferred to first list.

Is Dual Qualification a Guarantee for professional success

Dear Friends,

One of old Caclubindia member asked me 2 queries as listed below. As per my understanding there queries are very important for career point of view and many aspirants can identify themselves with the given questions. Hence I thought it would be good to share my thinking with you people.

I think it is a very good question as far as a healthy debate is concerned. If you asked me whether dual degree is necessary to succeed in life then I would straight away say “NO”.

According to me dual degree is not a must to succeed in life. To be honest single qualification of CS or CA is enough to do well.

The question of having dual degree comes when you start focusing on getting good job which is a wrong or somewhere a defective approach. What you should do is just focus on CS with full confidence as job prospectus of CS is good especially in cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR etc.

But at the same time there is no harm going for an additional qualification. But main objective should be to complement your main qualification. With the qualification of CS you may join LL.B. course. This can be joined any time like simultaneously with CS or at a later time say after 2-3 years of completing CS when you start feeling the need of LL.B. qualification with your current profile.

Unfortunately the current scenario is most of the students are joining/doing 2-3 professional courses just watching each other. Here at this point I would like to warn you that just be clear about your vision. There should not be lack of vision before joining additional course.

As per my advise just analyze yourself and your capabilities and join the additional professional course only if you actually feel the need of doing it. Avoid second course just for the sake that others are doing second course.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO SUCCEED

Dual qualification is not a guarantee towards professional success though it can be really handy in your professional growth. Your attitude towards corporate challenges and ability to handle adverse situations in life is responsible to get you everything you want from life.

Reality is u r not able to manage 2 courses but others are doing 2-3 courses today and they r ready to give u competition. But it is ok if u r good with ur knowledge. Revert for further advice.

As mentioned by you that your friend is 37 now. Here I’m bound to presume that he is quite an experienced campaigner with lots of working experience in the industry.

As per my advice there is no harm at all if he joined CS now. According to me there would be 2 benefit of doing CS at this age which are as follows:

1. First benefit would be with his previous industry experience + membership of ICSI can get him really good job. Here he has to show confidence regarding his previous experience.

But there is one point to be taken care is after completing CS at the age of 41 complete dependencies on CS qualification is not advisable.  He has to put his previous industry experience on front.

2. Second benefit be by doing CS he will be able to fulfill his wish of doing CS which is the most imp thing according to me. This degree can give him lots of confidence and once the desired confidence came he can be a star of the industry.

This is my simple suggestion to your friend.

In CCI a frequently asked question is what are the options available after CA or CS? An attempt has been made to suggest something in this regard. So please find below my suggestions.

There are many courses which you can pursue with CA or CS. However the choice and decision depends upon many factors like one’s own interest, cost, duration, time devotion etc. depending upon your circumstances.

In this regard I’d suggest you to explore your own interest and then decide what you want to do in future.

Some of the options available are:

1. CS, ICWA, CFA (US), CMA(UK). These are Long term duration with more than 3 years.

2. CPA, CFP, CIA, CISA etc. are medium term duration depending upon the devotion and your level of knowledge.

3. Further there are many certification programmes like, CIFRS, NCFM, CMA (US) etc. NCFM course is conducted by the Indian Stock Exchanges and concerned with security market.

The combination of CA+CFA is good in case the interest is for Investment banking and Portfolio Management.

The combination of CA+CPA is also a good one in case interest is in Accounting and Auditing field.

The Combination of CA+CS is also good. With this combination you will be able to handle Secretarial deptt along with Account and finance deptt. It is also very helpful to take top chances to work with top management.

i agree with u .but now a days some commerce graduates and fresh b.tech students get a package of min 4.5 to 6 lakh .i observed in my friends who are studying b.tech 4th year got 5.5package.

but as per my intention the CA starting package must be more than 8 to 10lakh..ICAi must make a move on this.

Last month I Audited an Individual file...of Dr. Konkarna Basu..

She is well qualified MBBS in year 2009..

Her annual salary...amounts to 38 lacs..

We in corporate field....we are Maestro...The King of the Ring...of Finance field..

But ICAI must Increase the min CTC...(now only 2.4 lacs)

For me its just the matter of time and little bit of luck. They will get it at some point of time. They just need to keep working towards enhancing their knowldge and skills. Along with the knowledge please do work on your presentation as it matters alot in present scenario.
