COSTING JUNE 2009 QUESTION PAPER ERROR IN QUESTION NO 5(b)

Dear all,

i feel there was an error in the quetion paper in Q.no. 5 (b) a selling price of cabinets that is given 16 but should have been 36

MY Questions are "

whether the printing error is correct or not

what could be the treatment for error for evaluation of answer sheet

what are the steps to be taken to inform the institute

whether any one got any instructions about the error during writing of the exam

pl share your opnion on the above mentioned questions

Yes !! The Question was wrong...

As was clearly seen from the given details of Total Cost and the Amount of Loss given !!

Can anyone let me know wht will the mark distribution in that case ??

Student should go in assumption basis rather than blaming the institute

I have confirmed it with Parag Gupta sir. As per him :

"I agree with you that it should have been 36 inspite of 16, but such mistakes are not new to CA Exams. In last attempt i.e. Nov 08, Direct Material was written twice in question paper [i.e. Direct Labour was also written as Direct Material]in Linear programming question. Similar kind of mistake was also in MAFA paper in Nov 08 itself, wherein Forex rate inversely written.

Generally (almost always), Institute provides benefit of doubt to students in such cases, provided you have either done that question with wrong figure itself or you have written an assumption correcting the question. "
