hai, iam new to Tally. i want to enter opening stk with cost center. Is it possible.

hi, dear yes you can entere opening stock with cost center in tally u just change the setting with select the press (F11) and select (YES) Maintain cost centers

thanks for ur reply, yes, it is possible to create cost center for sales, purchase etc., as u said but when i enter stock under stock in hand the option are cost centers applicable disappers. how to solve it.

Dear Member

You cannot Enter Opening Stock With Costcenter details in tally . to get costcenter summary you will have to create group company for previous year and current year and then check the cost center report of group company. where you shall get the costcenter report with opening balance.

Dear Raj

If you want to enter Opening Stock in tally then go to Account Info. select ledger and go to Alteration and select ledger account of Stock

In that window you can see two column one for Amount which should be value of Stock and next column is for Date. Use the date column for the date of Stock in Hand for example if yopu are entering Opening Stock the In Date column put date of st April the close the wiondow. After that you can see the opening stock in Stock Ledger account.

There are no need for using Cost center for Stock purpose

Thanks for u reply. Ok. I need a complete example to implement cost category and cost center . i got some examples in the net but every example gives only the transactions for that part alone. so i need a complete transaction(example) involving cost center and cost category.

as per cost center my outward data show and my opening stock show in cost centre but outward sells amount not reduce from opening stock why ? please help urgently .
