Consultancy to an infrastructure project..GST registration type?

For one infrastructure project I am being hired by a private company as consultant to provide service as governance expert. As my annual income for providing that service would be more than 20Lakhs, I was asked to provide GST number. I don’t have any GST number as before this I was in the payroll of a company as full time employee. So I need to apply for GST number.
What type of GST registration is required for me (individual, regular) and what documents are required for registration ?
My Aadhar address is Kolkata, my bank account is in bangalore branch.
