Confusion about itt and orientation

To start the articled training, completion of ITT and Orientation course is mandatory. There is no scheme of relaxation in this case.

Okay, So now i have applied for itt a nd orientation which will start from 1st august to 31st august. Now there is another issue, I have to finish 9 months of articleship before appearing in may-15 exams as per ipcc direct entry scheme. What is the solution?

After completion of ITT and Orientation by 31.08.2014, if you commence your articleship on 01.09.2014, then 9 months of training will be completed by 31.05.2015. But the requirement is to complete on 1st day of the month in which examinations is to be held (i.e. 01.05.2015).

Moreover, there hasn’t been any announcement by ICAI to ease the requirement for prospective attempts. Hence, you won’t be eligible for May 2015 attempt.

Thank you Deepak! Further, I want to ask that there has been some announcement in past about hardships faced by students for itt and orientation. So was there any announcement for the students who appeared in may - 14 exams?

Yes, ICAI had made announcements in the past regarding the eligibility criteria.

On 09.04.2013, there was an announcement in which ICAI clarified eligibility issues by way of a consolidated table - View.

On 15.01.2013, there was an announcement for Nov’13 exams - View.

But, there hasn’t been any specific announcement regarding May’14 attempt.
