Currently I am having Windows XP, noe\w I want to install windows 7 and also want to retain XP. What is the system requirments to enable me to have two windows nsimultaneously. Further, wheather the softwares installed using XP will work on windows 7 for example- Tally 9ERP installed on XP will be usable on Windows 7 too.and will the files and programs created using XP will be accessable using the 7?

Yes u can have both Win 7 and Win Xp at the same time. But either one wil be ur primary OS and the drive in which the primary OS installed wil be ur primary drive with program files... No prob as long as the softwares are not installed in the drive in which u gonna overwrite the OS the softwares will remain intact... oly thing s after OS installation u have to re install all the softwares from the respective folders in ur secondary drives...
