This discussion explains how to calculate income under the 'Income From Other Sources' head in income tax. Any income that doesn't fit into the categories of Salary, House Property, Profits and Gains from Business or Profession (PGBP), or Capital Gains is taxed under this head. Examples include interest from savings accounts and fixed deposits, dividends from foreign companies, and pension funds.

Income which does not fall in any other heads (Salary , House Property , PGBP or Capital Gain) shall be chargeable to tax under head IFOS
