Comp. Engg. + C.A. <-- Never Heard

u know ...there are many students from science background who r pursuing ca. but , honestly i donot know how well ca + comp eng combination would work out. though one requires computer skills in today's world to be a ca...i dont think one needs engg level of knowledge for that. dont get me wrong.

see... mba + ca combination is a deadly one. if u dont mind me asking ...what made u jump from comp to ca ? have u studied accounts before?? if u have and r interested in the course then nothing like it...just go for it!

Thanks for your reply, I have basic knowledge of Accounts, my brother is also in CA final that made me think about it, but I wanted an opinion from others, he would not recommend me because of the years it takes to complete CA considering the hardwork and chances of not clearing it in one go.

Now a days big companies have completly shifted to computer based accounting (ERP + CRM) etc. which requires quite a bit of computer background (sure not a Engg.) for a CA. Besides this we can consider BPO sector too.

Only problem is the duration of the couse which is killing me.

It would be better to do MBA from premier institute. If you are in job you can do one year MBA executive programme or MBA distance learning programme. MBA + Engg. is a good combination.

Well! This what the CA Course needs right now.  Hey actually CA is not a tough course.
Because, generally the course is approached mostly by arts students.   What is the background of most of the Arts Students?  Commerce group in Higher Secondary School.  What is the background of most of the Commerce Group Students?  Below Average in the Elementary School and High Schools.  

So finally CA Students are mostly Below Average and dull students.
If the bright and above average students come to CA, they can come out of the exams just like that!

I highly respect CA aspirants, to be CA's and CA's, they are very hardworking and down to earth. Only academics dont make a person. Students when in school don't have much self-realisation or goals or the big picture hence school academics does not make one a dull person. only few students get proper guidance and excel at that age, hence school or even for that matter college level acadamics does not matter much, even Einstien wasnt a bright student, I belive the only thing that matters is the dream to do something big, may it be early or late.

I take inspiration from CA students for taking the tough path, to some it may be easy, they struggle to fight all the hurdles and achive thier goals, taking in consideration the past academics. Time teaches how to tackle situtaions during the ups and downs, one does learn from failure and resurrect, I belive it is a turning point for all the students, my heart goes out for all those who have lost their precious years. "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."

I am a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) graduate...scored 74%. I have 2 years work experience.

I WILL CRACK THE PEII EXAMS IN MAY2006.

In the meantime, i am registering myself for IGNOU's MCA in this march for June onward session..

So I will be a CA + MCA in next 3 years. After that I have to go ISB, hydrabad for 1 year. This will land me (WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW) in Mackenzie. I can die to be there!

coming to ur question..many people do not know CA+IT as yet, maybe because of unawareness or lack of exposure...Even I didnt know anybody else than me who will ever think like this or will do CA after B.E.

I have done enough research on this..but u also do it for ur own..as its ur life...u r responsible for that...do..go through everything..analyse..observe..calculate every pros n con..then make a decision....sitting on fence is not good..its time wastage.. and life is nothing, its all build up of time...So get in or get out.. Make a decision.

It was not easy for me to go for an unexplored pathway...i mean BCA+CA.. but as you said..only important thing is to dream big and realise them.. i learned..relearned..became wiser.. ITS GOOD, ITS EXCELLENT.

I met a guy in 2005 Jan he did Engineering + B.com!! and then he was studying ICWA where I met him. So its not unheard of
Also Many Doctors join IIM for management degree!!
