Clarification required on ignou b.com

Hello All,

Recently I got this announcement from one of my friends regarding the BCom degree under IGNOU-ICAI tie-up. The announcement says the requirement of articleship in order to get the degree has been removed. Here is an extract -

"As approved by the Academic Council’s Standing Committee meeting held on 20th December, 2010 of Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU), it is decided to exclude:

Ø BCOL-001: 100 hours IT Training through Accredited Institutions from the programme structure of B.Com (A&F) for all the students.

Ø It is also decided to exclude the requirement of Completion of 3 years of articleship of ICAI."

Can anyone please corroborate this - since I am unable to find any such announcement on both IGNOU and ICAI websites? I have also attached a copy of the document.

ya...ur friend is right...i have obtained this info. though RTI against IGNOU

But this is of no benefit..since student will be getting degree after 3 years of registration to PCC/IPCC

Can students who have already cleared PCC/IPCC complete the course in 1 year?

Now, u need not wait 4 three years. After passing IPCC & 6 subjects of IGNOU we can get degree after 1 year. I think it may not take not more than 6 months to get B.com provisional degree from IGNOU after passing IPCC. This degree got its own special value.

Until you get YOur CA completed, u can use this degree to write any Govt.job exams, UPSC, CAT etc. AS you will be a CA final student with 3 years experiance (Article) u will have a better edge than a nornal B.com grad. even in interview. Meanwhile u can compelte ur final.

I am ipcc cleared student.. After doing 1 year ed bcom from ignou shall every universities of india or outside india allow me to pursue mcom or any further courses. Is ignou(1 year) is worldwide recognized?
