Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the complex process of claiming an income tax refund for a deceased assessee when their bank account is closed, mobile number surrendered, and Aadhaar cancelled. The advice suggests registering as a legal heir and pursuing the refund offline, potentially requiring the AR's bank details for re-processing. The link you provided guides for filing income tax return. in this particular case the assessee had filed his returns when alive till AY 2022-2023. His earlier years refunds are not received. What procedure legal heir to follow for claiming those refunds under the circumstances described earlier?

Register as legal heir and follow up offline for refund reprocess with the AR's bank details.
