can l claim expenditure on medicine for self treatment us 80D as I am a senior citizen and I have no health policy

Yes, if paid by non-cash mode.
As per Clause c and d of section 80d a person can claim deduction for the expenditure incurred by him on medical provided the expenditure is incurred by non cash mode.
@ kridhna choudary , no need to take health policy under 80d for senior citizens. they can claim deduction if they incurred medical expenditure under 80d.kindly once go through the provision again...
You can claim medical expenditure.no need to have Mediclaim
what abt compulsory health insurance by govt for all retired employees... is it mediclaim or not
