Claiming eligible input tax of April in next month

Hello,

If I dont claim eligible input tax visible in GSTR 2A and 2B of April month in this month's gstr3b then can I claim it next month's GSTR3B?

If yes, will it be visible in my next month's gstr2b or do i need to simply add it in other input tax in GSTR3B?

Thank you!

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether eligible input tax credit (ITC) not claimed in April's GSTR-3B can be claimed in the following month. The consensus is yes, you can claim missed ITC in a subsequent GSTR-3B return, referencing Circular 26/2017 GST. However, it's important to perform necessary calculations before claiming. The input tax credit will not automatically reflect in your next month's GSTR-2B; you'll need to manually add it under 'other input tax' in your GSTR-3B.

Yes you can claim input in next month but need to be calculation made, before claim itc.

Thank you for quick reply Deepak! Do i have to manually add it under "other input tax" in GSTR3B?

Will it be also visible in  my next months GSTR2B?

Actually I have input tax visible in 2A but not visible in 2B. It seems the supplier has filed April months GSTR1 on 12 May. Will the input tax reflect in my May months 2B?

Under 2B section, I currently have this message displayed:

GSTR-2B is being generated and should be available by 14/05/2023. Either you do not have any records in GSTR-2B or the generation is still in progress. If you are still not able to access it, please raise a ticket with GST support team.

No it is not going to reflected in your Next month 2B ... but yes you can definitely claim missed ITC in earlier return. (Refernece: Circular 26/2017 GST)
