We have a trust in which we receive rent on an immovable property. Rent exceeds 10 lac a year. Does the Trust which is meant for Charitable Objects need to register with service tax authorities?

Dear Yashsr,
Please note that there is a Mega Exemption Notification No.25/2012-ST dated 20 June 2012, issued, wherein the wording are
"4.Services by an entity registered under section 12AA of the Income tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) by way of charitable activities; "
Hence, if your Trust is regd. under the Income Tax Act, u/s.12AA, then no service tax would be payable by your trust.
