Changing the job

Dear friends,

My company requires 2 month prior notice period before resignation. Currently I am in my probation period.

If I leave the job within my probation period, do I need to give any notice ?

On my appointment letter, it is written that my probation period is 3 months but my sir told me that its actually 6 months.

My 6 month period is going to complete. I have not received any letter fixing my position in the company.

Can I leave the job without prior notice?

U shld ask wats d policy of co frm HR dept...thn u can decide correctly...

Yes, you can  leave the job without prior notice. Prior to resignation 2 or 3 months notice required to be given only when employee received confirmation letter from the company.

As you are in Company for a fixed period (6 months), your termination is automatic,

which does not require any Notice to be given.

@ sunil ahir : Sir its my probation period and not contractual job. My sir told me that my probation is for 6 months after which my job will be fixed. There is nothing like automatic termination.

My question is if an employee leaves the job in probation period does he require to give 2 months prior notice as per company policy ?

I can not ask this question anybody in office otherwise they will suspect that I am looking for a change.

Don ask direct q only get info frm other ways.....lik abt past people who left.........etc

One more thing, if the probation period is over, does it automatically convert into fix employment or the company give a letter to the concern employee to that effect?

no...on probation period compltion...only  whn company is satified tht ur deserving candidate  fit to b an employee of d co... n whn u finally rec the appointment letter wit signature of concerned authorities thn only u becom an employee

Either Contractual Job or Employee on Probation Period, its purpose for the Employer is the same. In both cases Employer reserves the Right to Employ the Person after a certain period.

If there is nothing mentioned in the Appointment Letter about Notice at the time of Resigning, then you are not require to give any Notice.

After your Probation period gets complete, Employment is not automatic.

Same would be through an Agreement [Offer Letter].
