Is appointment of CFO is statutory for private company.
Is only listed company&Public havin 10 crore capital liable to appoint CFO.
I.e Are all private company free from penalty for non appointment of CFO.

As per the section 203 of co.s Act 2013 , Appointment of KMP is applicable to every Listed Co. and every other Public Co. having Paid up Capital of Rs. 10 Cr. or more.
It is not applicable to Pvt. Ltd. Co.
