CFPCM certification is an international certification program in the field of financial advisory services. CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM Certification or CFPCM Certification is a mark of excellence granted to individuals who qualify all module examinations and also meet the stringent standards of education, examination, experience and ethics. It is awarded in India by Financial Planning Standards Board, India (FPSB, India) which is a non profit organization and is backed by 49 charter members which are primarily all major players in the field of personal finance in India like Banks, Mutual Funds, Asset Management Companies, Insurance Companies etc

What are the course contents of CFPCM educational program? |

The CFPCM certification program consists of 6 study modules, namely :
1) Introduction to Financial Planning
2) Risk Analysis & Insurance Planning
3) Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits
4) Investment Planning
5) Tax Planning & Estate Planning, and
6) Advanced Financial Planning.
The first module i.e. Introduction to Financial Planning does not have an individual exam but is embedded in the examination of other five modules of the CFPCM Certification Program. The Curriculum for the CFPCM Certification is GLOBAL. It essentially means that it is global in outlook but has been localized as per the laws and regulations governing a particular country. The Syllabus is made by leading industry practitioners and academicians and is reviewed periodically to ensure that the curriculum is up-to-date and relevant to those working in the Financial Planning industry. |

Yes, currently CFPCM Certification is offered and recognized in over 23 countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, China Taipei, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States of America. FPSB, Denver, US enters into licensing and affiliation agreements with non-profit organizations (or their equivalent) around the world that allows the organizations to establish and operate the CFPCM certification program in a country or region. FPSB India is one of the Affiliates of FPSB, Denver, USA. CFPCM certification undertaken in any of the affiliate countries is recognized globally and governed by cross border policy usage. |

How to register for this course? |
|
IFP offers this course in classroom and Distance Learning modes. The candidate needs to contact nearest IIFP office and can register for this course by paying the requisite IIFP and FPSB fee, based on the mode of study selected. |

When and where are the examinations held? |
|
The examinations are held across India on all NSE examination centers throughout the year. The candidate must register a seat in advance and pay the requisite examination fee to take the examination. At present, the examination fee for Exam 1 – 4 is Rs. 2,000 per attempt and for Exam -5 it is Rs 5,000 per attempt. |

Do I need to take CFPCM examinations in the module sequence only? |

No, a candidate can take the examination for Exam 1-4 in any sequence but Exam 5 can only be attempted once the candidate has successfully cleared the Exams 1-4. The first examination attempt can be taken only after expiry of mandatory 60 days lock in period that starts from the date of registration of the candidate with the FPSB, India. |

What is the examination pattern of CFPCM exams? |

The examinations are held online and Questions are in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format i.e. the student has to chose the correct option amongst the given 4 choices. In Exam 1-4 there are 75 questions of total 140 marks in each exam, and in Exam 5 there are 2 case studies and around 30-35 question of 100 marks based on them in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format only. The duration of Exam 1-4 is 2 hours each and Exam-5 is of 4 hours. |

How many attempts are allowed to clear the CFPCM modules? |
|
A candidate can take any number of attempts to clear the CFPCM modules by paying the requisite fee again. However, the FPSB registration is valid for a period of 1 year only, and a candidate needs to complete the examination and experience requirements in a maximum period of 7 years. |

What is challenge status examination? |
|
The Challenge Status Program is for professionals who already possess certain skill sets and proficiency which is expected of Financial Planners. A candidate applying for the Challenge Status program needs to appear only for a single examination (Exam 5) and has to meet the experience criteria. Nevertheless, the syllabus under the Challenge Status program is same as in the Regular program. |
