i m a cable tv service provider under a proprietry firm and liable to pay service tax. i also trade in stock market individualy. Can i avail cenvit credit on service tax i paid on brokerage?

no.. one can avail cenvat of those services which have been utilised in providing the end service as a service provider.. trading in shares is not associated with providing cable services therefore you cannot avail cenvat credit of the same.
