Central Excise Reg for Dealer & Mfgr

I would like to have an advice with regard to the Central Excise Registration.  The company A is a manufacturing company with ECC at Premise P1.  Now can the company start another unit at Premise P2 which would a trading unit (dealer) in the same name.  Can this new unit take a Central Excise Regn.  Is it mandatory to take a registration?

Yes. The second unit can be started. Registration is required.

Sir,

The new trading unit will not be raising any Excise Invoice.  It is intended for local VAT sales only.  In this case do we still have to take Central Excise Registration.

If the second unit will not raise any excise invoice (manufacturer's or dealers), then no registration is required.

If your customers is not availing Cenvat credit, then there is no requirment to get dealer registration from central excise department.

Dear All,

ARE-1 format is attached.

Thanks & Regards

You can do trading activity. There is no restriction under law.

Have a seperate series of Inovice for this. Maintain sepearate record of stocks. You should not take credit on the traded goods.
