Quick Summary
This discussion explores how to calculate the carrying value of an investment for FY2022. It addresses the scenario where an investment cost £1000 on 1 April 2020, had a market value of £900 on 31 March 2021, and £950 on 31 March 2022. The key question is whether the carrying value should be £950 (the latest market value) or £900, considering accounting standards like AS13 and the principle of net realisable value (NRV).

Carrying value of investment at net realizable value.

NRV? Carrying amount is the cost or revalued amount.

950 or 900 ?

950 is the lowest so it must be posted. It seems that as13 is different because other conventions dont have this criteria. Its only cost or revalued amount.
