Career Dilemma... plz help me out...

Dear friends..... I'm in a big dilemma and able to decide..... I'm a B.com (hons) final year student from AMU Aligarh, I appeared for IPCC group-I this november, account paper went bit bad.

I've an opportunity and I'm pretty sure about it that I can get admission in MBA or MFC ( Master of Finance and Control) here in AMU. But I'm not able to decide that should I fully concentrate on CA preparation or take admission in the courses mentioned above, If I took admission in those courses then it is unlikely that I'll be able to persue CA.

So I request all the knowlegeable persons of CCI to help solve this dilemma,keeping in mind career prospectives and the risk factor of the said courses. thanks in advance.

It’s very simple to decide.

If you are very passionate about CA then you must not get disappointed by your performance in Accounts exam of Nov'10. The paper was tough and it was not as per the expectation level of students seeing the past 5-6 exams of PCC or two exams of IPCC.

I am sure by this time you must have framed strategy to deal with the papers in May'11 if God forbids you don't clear this time. I would advise you to follow my suggestion of books given to you before (it’s well thought strategy to crack CA). I am sure being a true AMUite you will have all passion to study like rock. Just prepare in the way as if you are going to prepare for toughest paper. If you work in this direction, success in CA exams will become lollipop. Believe me, it’s true.

Coming to your decision for MBA or MFC from AMU. I would say go for it but as a second back up plan (if you are passionate about CA in 1st thought).

Considering the AMU admission pattern, MBA test will be only on 25/05/2011 & form will be given in March next year (confirm once with the controller office). So prepare for the test side by side along with your CA preparations. CA exam will also be in May'11. From now start the preparations with full dedication & do smart work (frame strategy). Focus more on 1st group as its clearance is essential for starting article ship. Don't forget about your back up plan. After your CA exams give MBA test.

Say you clear both MBA test criteria & CA IPCC group 1, you will have 2 options.:-

1-- Continue with CA by starting your article ship. I would suggest you to do articles in Delhi preferably any big city where more market is there for CA & for learning new things. (Assuming you are interested to do CA in 1st thought)

2-- If not 1, then opt for your back up plan. Start with your MBA.

You cannot do both i.e. MBA & Article ship.

Wasi you can do it. CA is not tough. It can be cracked by anyone by having a good amount of strategy from beginning stage to writing the last answer of the CA exams. CA requires dedicated hard work & normal level of intelligence.

Thanks a lot Faiz bhai, your suggestions have given me a direction, I'm really passionate about doing CA so I'm going to give my best this time, I guess I was't fully prepared otherwise account paper was't that tough to cause me too much of prob and also I could't manage the time during the paper. I learned many things from this first experience and I've really started formulating strategeis to overcome my weaknesses. I'll fill the MBA and MFC forms but will try to give my 100% for CA prep only. As I'm confident that I can crack this in may attempt,just need to polish the hardwork already done.

hi frienf i m stufent of ipcc really if CA is ur life goal then only continue in CA otherwise it is better to go for MBA bcoz CA required 100% hardwork and 100% luck....................there ys lot of constraints effect CA internally and externally plz take a right decission at a right time ................GO AHEAD THE GREAT GOD WILL BE WITH U....................BELIVE UR STRENGTH...........
