Dear All,

As per the amended provision the deciding factor for the land considered to be urban or rural is the distance measured AERIALLY from the local limits of any municiality.

Now, the question arises that how these distances shall be measured for determining the land's urban or rural status? Are there any deparments who certify such distances?

Thanking you

yes, tehsildar give such documents. I recently handle a case in which assessee provided us the document from tehsildar which mentioned that land is situated 8 kms away from local muncipal limits. Regards

Thank you Manojji for  prompt reply,

However, it is still to my confusion how the Aerial distance certificate can be given byTehsildar and in what manner he can compute the same?

Please if, you can throw light on above.
