Cant clear ipcc. what am i doing wrong?

IPCC 3229 views 10 replies

I gave the IPCC (G1) november 2012 attempt and failed LAW(38/100) further fell short in aggregate by around 10 marks. Performed poor in COST&FM.

I gave the MAY 2013 exams and LAW went real bad, like seriously real bad. I know I'll fail and further COST&FM went bad again though the question paper was ok.

I require advice as to how to prepare for COST&FM. My problem is that I know all the topics but fail to preform in exams. I cant seem to revise well during the last month before the exams. I seem to forget half the stuff and it takes me almost the same amount of time to prepare the subject as if I'm doing it for the first time as I have to read the topics again.

What am I doing wrong? This shouldn't happen if I've studied the topics well, But it is happening due to some reason. And while giving the exam my mind just gets totally confused resulting in poor performance.

The volume of the subject is so much studying it over and over again is a big pain. Please do help :-(

the syllabus of COST-FM are lengthy but they r not tough subjects..i think u can study these subjects on a daily basis  and  develop da habit of practising sums on a regular basis ... this may help u to not to forget the things ..do revision v well and dat too on a periodical basis so dat u don't get detached with these subjects  for a long time ...

dost sabse pahele toh u should believe in ur self..that u can perform well in exam also...motivate ur self every time whenever d fear comes in ur mind...
tips for prepartion....
when u will statrt preparation then take a small copy and write chapter wise all important thing ..format..adjustment..and usefull information...
that are very helpful at the time of revision...
when u start to do a studied like that u feel ..its will take a more time..but d fact is that it can save ur time in further rivision...
all d best..
self motivation is d best thing to clear d exam
becoz we know urself well rather than other..

Fisrt of all...I BET YOU ArE NOT FORGETTING ANYTHING...its just ur attitude that you are always afraid that you'll forget..

Agar ye baat sach hoti to how you cleared your 12th....coz for a student of 12th..even course at that level is lengthy....But at that time you had the concept in ur mind that--

"Sbhi bcche to pass hote hn or sbko pdha hua yad rhta h to muje b rhna chaiye..m q daru"

Thats y u cleared ur 12...

But when u joined CA..You concept became..

"Sab log bolte hn k CA tough hota h..course jyada hota h...muje zarurur dikkat hogi...."

& here you are...Now you have a firm belive that you are not able to remember..

Bhai..ye sab tumahra vehem h....M too an avg student...but i knw that if i wouldnt believe in my self..i would definetly loose...CA is tough for all of us...But we wont give up...

Just throw all these dirty thoughts in the dustbin..& start afresh..m sure you'll be a CA...

Now..For csoting FM..Do FM first..its easy..scoring & easy to revise & remember....& then goto theoryof CFM..jsut do past year theory Q....then to Standard costing....after it rest..it was my strategy & i got 55 in first attemt in CFM...

For Law...Buy munish bhandari.....Learn all practicle Q given in it..& plz give equal importance to law..ethics & comm.....

I would suggest you a revision strategy..

1st revison---After finishing the topic

2nd revision--1 day after it

3rd revision--on 7th day..

4th revision---around 25th day

subsequent revisons on monthly or bi monthly basis..

I follow above plan  & its good....

& last but not the least..get proper food & proper sleep...its a must..

do only practica manual of the institute even for law and cost fm. u will pass for sure.

Do practice manual....Be conceptually very strong....:)

All the best

Okay the first I've to say is that, you're a sincere and hardworking student. Because you've maintained good grammar in your post. That implies you're not lazy dude.

Well the first thing you need to understand is that the COST & FM paper is very lengthy. So don't target to attempt the whole paper. And please try to solve those problems first, which are easy and simple.  And atleast 50% of the paper will consist of simple questions. So if you maintain your cool and keep your focus, you can very easily score 50+

I know it can be VERY painful to study for the same exam over and over again. But you need to understand that you'll experience many failures in your life. So you need to be strong. And please get over your past. and concentrate on the present. YOU NEED TO LOOK FORWARD, NOT BACKWARD.  Well I know it is easy said, than done. But you've to do it anyways. And I'm sure you'll clear your IPCC in the next attempt. Good luck!

As i  have also suffered from the similar situation and i think most of the students who fails in their exam are having same problem  . So i would like  just to share my experience instead of making any suggestion.

My mistakes was:

1.  Lack of practice in practical papers,

2.  In theory papers i generally presumed that i have covered all the syllab. already so i use to go through only instead of making revision through rigorous writing practice of Ques-Ans ,

3.   I used to waste the time after the exams upto results and even upto submission of next exam form resulted in last month rush ( for preparation ),

4.  Made planning but never executed,

5. In studies bcoz of lack of time i did coverage based studies and given no time for revision(the backbone of study),

I made the comeback by making the following change in my study pattern :

1. Started early preparation and firstly i made my own syllab.  on the principle of chase good money first i.e. covered the topics first which are easy and short in an efficient and effective way , since in every exam about 60-70% ques. are easy to do ( refer scanner for help ),

2.  Made rigorous practice (working only with relevant formate- less time taking and interesting) of practical ques-ans,

3.  For theory papers i did keywords writing practice of every topic in ques-ans. formate only (best to do practice manual first) i.e. never made lenthy theory study by reading only but always study through writing short notes ,

4.  Set aside daily 2 hours for fast track revision ( through short notes -theory papers and only working of ques. -practical papers ) ,

5.  Relax myself by listening to music and did sufficient daily exercise (around 10 minutes)

MY KEY TO SUCCESS IN EXAMS WAS CONSISTENCY  - CONCEPTUAL( no rattafication) - CONCLUSION BASED STUDY(short notes) - PROPER REVISION( fast track) & CONCEPT OF CHASE GOOD MONEY FIRST

Hello,

The problem is not very serious. This is just a matter of one attempt. After getting success is one attempt nobody can stop her to qualify CA.

Let me tell you honestly am not going to give you any motivational dose through this answer. I’ll try to solve your query with some strict and practical approach to remove the problem once for all.

Kindly appreciate there is nothing to worry as your academic health is fine i.e. your study and knowledge portion seems fine. You simply need small suggestion to ensure edge to your preparation.

SIMPLE SUGGESTIONS TO DEAL WITH EXAM FAILURE

  1. Atlas Method --- You need my atlas method to score more marks.

ATLAS STUDY METHOD: This method is completely developed and named by me and is extremely helpful for fetching good marks. ATLAS STANDS FOR “AT LAST”. There are always some questions, formulas, Sections and case laws which we simply fail to recall in exam hall. According to this method if you find anything very difficult to remember then after preparing the same topic once or twice put it in the ATLAS. Keep putting difficult topics in ATLAS till exam date. There would be a different ATLAS for law, audit, accounts etc. Now 1.5 hour before leaving your home for examination hall open ATLAS question list and revise it properly or give it a special reading. Now if you find any question from ATLAS in the exam paper it would be very easy for you to answer as you specially revise it just 2-3 hours back and your confidence level will automatically increase in the beginning of exam. What say???

Keep review your ATLAS list and modify it accordingly. If initially you put any question in ATLAS and now you are confident enough about that particular question you can remove that question from ATLAS. Don’t put easy and non important questions in ATLAS as this concept is for revising extra-ordinary important questions just 2-3 hours before examination. If you need any help understanding this method please let me know.

I hope the above mention treatment will help you to clear exam this time.
