Can we go against form 16??

Can one help me to know that can we go against the salary mentioned in form 16?The case is of a school teacher wherein the actual salary received as per the salary slips is 10000 Rs/- less than what is stated in form 16. And when the management was requested to give the bifurcation, they are not ready to give proper information ,the organisation being a school..so can we state lower salary according to the salary slips in the itr??so that refund can be claimed as TDS is deducted on the overstated salary as per form 16.

does your salary slips show tds bifurcations?

If possible give details. Atleast whatever u have actually recd, is it as per salary slip?

it may be the contribution addition towards PF/ESI/PT or other funds, which amounts to 10000

@ Roopali-- NO...salary slips doesnt show TDS bifurcation..Yes It is received as per salary slips but it is overstated in form 16.

@ U S Sharma-No it is not that difference.

I think Better to a\go as per TDS Certificate (Form 16).

It will be having whole detail of Salary paid thru out the yr along with deductible amount like contribution to PF & PT deducted & etc. ...

is the difference between salary slip and form 16, the tds amount?

Format prescribed bt I-T dept. for form 16 gives total detail of salary. i want you to check properly

My Opinion is that waht ever amount stated in Form16 is final, and so its better to go as per Salary PaySlips or ask the employer to issue amended/revised form 16

Thank u everyone for ur advices...

i have checked properly the fom 16.. but still the difference persists..and it is also not the amount of tds, ...i have also consulted my boss and now i am filling a written application to the management for a revised form 16..
