No you can not do that as all GSTR forms are important to fill by the asseesee.You can not skip any GSTR form it will only create trouble for you in future.

question is whether you can file gstr 1 first and then 3B , it is pretty much doable and system is accepting.

Yes u can and for the month of May-18 You have to file GSTR-1 prior to filing of GSTR-3B.
