Bangar is a really superb book and with that you can do self study and if you have little practical exposure on indirect taxes that is more than sufficient

 If u wanna have concise clarity on provisions, go in for K.Vaitheeswaran's IDT.  Many discourage using this citing its short.  But wat u have to remember is that the content u can retain in ur mind is only that given in his book.  Wat is reqd for students alone is given in his book.  Go for it.  Problems u can solve once u know the concept (The CS way).  Take care.  But decide one book and go with its contents
