Can an auditor not be an artist?

Stat Audit 855 views 1 replies

Hi, this is Tuhin. I am passionate to statutory auditing as well as in authorship of story books, photography, and other artistic works. But as we know, as per the rules of the institute, an statutory auditors can not be indulge in any other professions and occupations. If an auditor is a fantastic painter or singer, can s/he not participate any singing competition or painting competition, or can he not exhibit his photography without prior approval of the ICAI? If any sincere and knowledgable person knows it, please reply.

There is no bar to you participatng in competitions etc as a amateur i.e non professional. Butif you want to practice as a professional painter etc. then you may have to take the permission of the council. In any case why do you want to become a professional artist when you can follow your passion and stll be a practising CA??
