Can a CA deny Industrial Training to his Articled Trainee?

No, the principal can not stop you from going for the industrial training, provided that you have intimated him about your intention for the same three months prior to the comencement of the IT. And as you said that you informed the principal six months in advance, there is no power in the hands of the principal to stop you.

The typical CA would not like to lose a trained clerk. Moreover, considering the market salaries, it would be unaffordable for him to recruit someone from the  market.

I had the same issue in the year 1983. Somethings do not change.
