Defying the so-called police arrangement in view of the elections and Navratri, a chartered accountant's office located in a 'secured' area was reportedly burgled sometime between Thursday late night and Friday early morning.

The burglars made away with cash, gold and silver coins and biscuits worth Rs19 lakh. The Satellite police have registered a complaint in this connection.

According to police, the office of Pankaj R Shah & Associates at Regency Plaza, opposite Rohit Tower at Anandnagar Road (Satellite) was burgled sometime between 8:15 pm on Thursday and 8:15 am on Friday.Police said the burglars broke the shutter's lock and ransacked the office.

"The thieves stole Rs10 lakh in cash and Rs9 lakh worth gold and silver coins and biscuits. They entered the office after breaking the lock of the shutter.

The modus operandi is similar to the one used in a case registered with Navrangpura police station recently," said HB Jamod, police inspector at Satellite police station who is investigating the case. Police said that the office belonged to a chartered accountant who had kept the cash to be distributed as salary and bonus among the employees.

Considered to be one of the safest zones, the burglary incident came despite the intense patrolling and other measures that the police claim to have undertaken. When asked whether there is a possibility of an insider being involved in the burglary, cops refused to comment.

this is a shameful fact;that such thing has happened to such a big big firm.
