You are saying that its your first attempt & you are doing articleship; how can it possible?????????

 you can go through the accounting standards , tax provisions and work out costing probs in the mean time .. this is a apt time to finish the orientation and the ITT programs if you havent finished it .. 

some firms allow prior articles too .. but that wont be counted in the articleship peroid . if u r confident of ur results , u can go for one .
