i also want to know bout the refrence books to be used for finals new course ??

and upto what extent we can depend on modules??

First of all i want to say that please don,t leave the module fully. because some concept who include in module, sometimes not include in refrence books.only see concept in module but study or understand from refrence books. best refrence books given below used by my side.

Audit : V.K. Agrawal & (for quick study - kamal garg)

Law : Munish Bhandari (for Complete reading : Main Book & for summary : Hand Book)

MICS : Dinesh Madan & ICAI Module

DT : Paduka (Best coz u can understand easily by urself without ny classes)

IDT : Banger (u'll get everything watever comes in exams but not creates pictorial view in mind)

A/c n MAFA : must solve all ques of Compiler (u'll get even same ques in exam)

Law, MICS, n DT u can do by urself... n also some chapters of A/c & MAFA.

u must read atleast 1AS nd 1SA daily...

Because Exams are also Prepared by Institute.

i think the discussion must go on since squarely blaming module is not the way out.

yes there are certain modules which r useless ,e.g tax module due to assessment year problems.

but i think other modules r good.i dont think people call module the bible just for no reason.

also responses by professionals like ca surendra kumar are heartening to see as even professionals can help out the younger student community

also thank  mr.ravindra kumar for his valuable inputs.

this is the speciality of this site when misconceptions r cleared and students and professionals both interact and make this course a really enjoyable one.

How is V.K.Singhania's Book for Direct Taxes???

I prepared PCC from it and think that it's the ultimate practice material. . .

From my previous post; it should be presumed that you need not require reference books. You should have at least one reference book of each subject but base should be Modules.

Further; if you read regularly the Institute's journal and other relevant materials either from newspapers or magazines; then it will help you to form your own judgment about the subject because it is necessary to qualify CA that you are in a position to say something about the subject in your own language.

CAs are required to REPORT ON THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.

So on the subject; what is your opinion; if it is clear;  than it is EASY TO PASS CA. It means not only you should cover the subject but your concepts should also be clear e.g. when you read Law subject; your focus should also be there on REASONING why there are such provisions in the law.

Otherwise all the students do labour; but no wages are paid by the Institute !

hello ca surendra sir,

once again thank u for appreciating me.it is nice to know that u insist on module and self study.whenever i think of my parents having to pay 50000 odd rupees to join coaching i feel disheartened and think have i made a mistake to join this course especially at a time when my and many of my firend's parents over here who think about retirement have to think of paying such a heafty fee and that too without any clear assurance of clearing the exams.
