i have applied for ca final BOTH group may 2018. But now i want to appear in group 2 only.
will i be eligible to get exemption in any paper of group 2 if i remain absent in group 1 (i will appear in all 4 papers of group 2).
As i have applied for both group, so i'm little confused for exemption rules for group 2.

to avail exemption in particular group, you need to be present for all the papers of that particular group. it doesn't matter whether you have applied for one or both groups
that means exemption rules are applied group wise. my absence in group 1 will not come in way of getting exemption in group 2

as per criteria if you are absent for any one subject in the group which you gained exemption exemption will not be valid
so if u get 1 exemption in grp2 u need to attend all subjects in grp2 only

Yes if you attempt group 2 all papers then you can get exemption even tough you have applied for both groups.
