Hi all,

I am a CA Final student and working as a Chief Accountant.

I have just started my preparation for CA Final exams (Old Syllabus) which is scheduled for May 2010.

My office time starts from 8 am and it will close around 7.30 to 8 pm daily.

i am not attending any classes, since i am not in India.

can anyone suggest & guide me in how to prepare for both the groups and clear it in this may 2010.

I am referring the following books:

Accounts - MP Vijayakumar

MAFA - Rastogi & A N Sridhar

Audit - Padhukas & V K Agarwal

Law - Munish Bandhari

Cost - Padhukas

Direct Tax - Yet to purchase

Indirect Tax - Yet to purchase

IN BUSINESS RISK AND REWARD GOES TOGETHER BUT IN CA.STUDY AND MONEY CANOT FIND TOGETHER JUDGEMENT IN YOUR  HAND

sudharson i dont have any intensions of discouraging u bt ca final is not as easy as u r taking it to be..ideally people complete all practical subjects coachings 6months before exams and do hardcore study 7-8 months b4 exams for 10-14 hrs a day and then they are able to clear both groups in 1st attemp.and it is reqd coz passing %age is only 10-15 %.....the only suggestion 2 u is strt studying for nov 2010 exams from now....so tht u cn pass them

for DT - Paduka is da best

for IDT - Bangar

A/C & MAFA - Compiler shud be compulsorily studied..

bt i think u shud go wid only 1 grp in which u think u'll more confidence..  n just try to get exemption in any 1 subject of second grp..

coz its not so easy to manage 8 subjects wid office working...

for DT,refer paduka as limited time is with u,,and for IDT BANGER IS THE BEST

can any one tell me how to prepare or what are the important topics or questions to be covered.

Hi thanks for all the postings

Can anyone please guide me how to prepare or what are the important topics to be covered.

For Dt - Manoharan is the best book from exam point of view

for Idt- Bangad is the best book

I hv cleared my first group and got Exemption in Idt

Hi! I have just given the Nov 2009 attempt and i hardly had time to prepare. Many people say you have to sit and study for months together and 8 to 12 hours a day.... I totally do not agree. you just need the right material to study and you should have very good concentration and must dedicate quality time. With this you can start and finish a subject fully in 2 to 4 days flat. I started to study from scratch only 15 days before the exams. But ideally you would need a month. Of course if luck is on your side and if you have very good grasping power, then even 5 days before the exam shud do. CA club india has some excellent material for studies. you need to 1st download all of them. For the text books, I wud suggest the following:

1. Accounts - M.P. Vijay Kumar

2. MAFA - Pattabhi Ram

3. Audit - Kamal Garg (Bharat), Downloaded notes from CA Club

4. Law - Munish Bhandary Hand Book

5. Cost - Padhuka's

6. MICS - Dinesh Maadan, Downloaded Notes

7. DT - Padhuka's, Downloaded case law notes, Notifications, Amendmends

8. IDT - Vaitheshwaran, Ajay Jain's Downloaded Notes, Case laws, Amendmends

And just go thru a couple of previous years papers.
