CA exam answersheets under RTI purview: HC

New Delhi: Students who fail in chartered accountant exams can find out their mistakes by going through their answersheets as the Delhi HC on Thursday directed the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to provide a certified copy of the paper to students under the Right to Information Act. Dismissing an ICAI’s plea against a CIC order, the HC said the answersheet cannot be excluded from the purview of the RTI. AGENCIES

Thanks for the Info...

But i think, ICAI has went to Supreme court against that judgement.

Yes it is true. It was the case of Vishikita Vikas Soni from Mumbai.

We can get our answer sheets. But friends dont take such risk. If your registration no. come in the eyes of institute they will make sure that u never pass in the CA exams. They will definately fail you. My advise is that please dont go for it.

Nice

 Land Mark Decision of H.C.

judgement is landmark.... but what is the benefit... ICAI will find some or the other route to trap students as mentioned by rahul...

My advice is that you should start studying once the results come.

Even if you get your paper under RTI Act, is there a process to challenge the valuation done by examiner? Not to my knowledge.

There is only a verification process, which is basically totalling your marks once more (which you wont need once you have a copy of the paper in hand)

So u can use this only to know where you have gone wrong, which itself is a boon for better preparation for your next attempt. Dont keep your hopes pinned on RTI Act.

welcome to those...for those who are thank full to me......

THANKS ANIL

 thanks for the info

i dont think der will be any problem.atlaeast  iam going to apply cos i am sufffering.

hey can anyone pls confirm whether as on 09-01-2010 has the ICAI preferred an appeal, and to which court?

Let me clear to everyone that ICAI is not going to provide you with the answersheets. I hd applied for JUNE 09 final answersheets but i got a negative reply. ICAI written to me that if i want i cn appeal to HC....SO.....it's all false ....i am the real example

the one which i posted is a fact....mr.angshuman....you  can't simply say it is false...check out in TOI,.,
