	Yes Agree with Mr. Rupesh,

The career in Certified Planning Course has emerged as the flavor of the season. Worldwide, there are more than 1, 00,000 CFP professionals. CFP certification is relatively a new trend in India and seeing the demand for such professionals, industry expects to have demand for more than 50,000 professional in coming years.

In India, Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) runs this course through several affiliated institutions. From having one or two such affiliated institutions, the number has exceeded the figure of 25 in the recent years. That shows how youths are taking this course. Anyone can join this course provided he or she fulfills certain criteria.

Becoming a certified financial planner requires one to acquire CFP certification and that can be obtained in two ways; Regular and Challenge status for professionals. Both ways have certain conditions that need to be fulfilled by candidates. Certified financial planner education includes clearing of basic eligibility criterion, i.e. 12th standard or exam equivalent to 12th standard.

Thereafter students need to undergo training program at any of the education providers approved by FPSB. Students can choose the provider as per their own convenience. This training program ensures that candidate has acquired all the rudimentary knowledge of financial advisory services. Once the training period is over students need to clear the five exams of Risk Management & Insurance Planning, Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits, Investment Planning, Tax Planning & Estate Planning and Advanced Financial Planning. There are total six modules in the course.

Once the candidate has successfully managed to clear the certified financial planner exam, he is qualified to get any job as certified financial planner with any of the agency or corporation. Clearing the exam also signifies that the candidate has acquired all the competencies of financial planning. However, candidate also needs to undergo three years of work experience in case if he is a graduate. This experience needs to be obtained before the certification exam or even after the exam. Those who have yet to complete their graduation need to get six years of work experience.

However there is another option of ‘challenge status course for professional’ course who wish to become a certified financial planner. This course is for professionals who wish to acquire the CFP certification in a shorter span of time. This course is basically for professionals and the eligibility criteria is candidates must be an ICWA, CS, CA, PhD, PG, CAIIB, Actuary, LLB, and FFSI & FLMI etc.

In this exam candidates just need to clear fifth paper of Advanced Financial Planning. Candidates should also have 3 year of work experience in financial sector whereas for candidates belonging to non financial service industry, 5 years of work experience is must. On successful completion of the exam and certification course, passed out candidates need to sign declaration paper pertaining to FPSB India’s Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct.
