Section 10(29) - Coir Board - exempt

Short term Capital gains tax increased from 10% to 15%

Securities Transaction Tax(STT) - remains unchanged

Commodities Transaction Tax to be introduced.

Banking Transaction Tax - to be withdrawn w.e.f 1.04.2009

Corporate Income tax - no changes

U/s 80D - additional Rs.15000 allowed as deduction - if medical insurance premium is paid for parent/(s).

New concept of Reverse Mortgage - by senior citizens - not taken as transfer.

Income received from reverse mortgage - not to be considered as income.
