Try this one:-

Rudra takes the Metro to work. He takes an escalator to go up the level from underground to ground level. If Rudra runs up 8 steps of the escalator, then it takes him 32.5 seconds to reach the top of the escalator. If he runs up 14 steps of the escalator, it takes him only 17.5 seconds to reach the top. 

How many seconds would it take if he did not run up any steps at all??

is it 52.5 sec?

Time increased by reducing the no. of one step = 2.5sec = ((32.5-17.5)/(14-8))sec

If he reduces 8 steps then time increases = 2.5sec *  8= 20seconds

Hence time taken if the does not run even single step=32.5+20= 52.5 secs.

Correct Answer Mr. Aseem....... if he will take 1 step.. it will reduce 2.5 sec time.
