Agree, ICSI study material is more then enough.

aprat from institute modules, any other books? because i dont find myself comfortable with modules.

We seem to have a shortage with regard to the files available in the files section. Contribution towards the same would prove beneficial to the CS students community.

In addition to decide which book the purchase; first take the following points in your mind :

In professional examinations; strategy should be formed first in the following matters :

1. Purchase of Books.

2. Time available

3. Coaching

4. Group of Friends for discussion

5. Collecting Notes

6. Above all; an analytical study. 

Regarding you question; keep the following points in mind :

1. First have an overview of all the modules.

2. Collect/purchase all the suggested answers of past 10 years.

3. Purchase at least one book for each subject and compare its materials whether it is according to  requirement of ICSI question paper setting (according to past trend). 

4. For point No. 3 - to decide which book to purchase for each subject; go to bookseller and ask him how many  books  are available for the course; he will show you all. 

5. Make good relations with the book seller and ask him which book is the best sold. He will tell you.

6. Still don't accept blindly that the book is perfect one for the examinations. Make your own judgment about the book and if you are not satisfied; buy another one. 

7. Never take a chance. If you are not satisfied with the book; immediately purchase another one. It willhardly cost you Rs. 2000/- in toto; but your career will not be on bet.

hello i had completed my cs xam in june2010 session.

i m completly agree with umesh, follow  khan & jain for MAFA and Bangur for IDT and also follw recent amendements, and study mat for other subject. (Scanner & Guildline answer will also helpful)

WIth due respect to all, i dont think u need to do so much. These things are required for those who are non chartered accountants. U are already a CA or a pursuing one (not sure). U dont need to do such lengthy work. Bcoz CS Institute does no demand that much. Its a well said fact :

(i) A CS who has not prepared for the law paper enough may not get through CA Final law paper.

(ii) A CWA who has not prepared for the Costing Paper will not get through CA Final Costing paper.

U have already been tested at a much hotter temparature my friend. Dont burn yourself more.

Remember Acting/working hard is not the best way. Itsa good way but the modified version and the correct version is working smart.

Inn my other post, i have told u my story. Dont wana tell that again.
