Can a Pvt Co or Unlisted Co which are not entitled to appoint Independent Director be called a Board Meeting on a shorter notice ?

yes board meeting can be called at shorter notice subject to the provisions contained in article.

General Rule: Check the provisions in Articles of Association regarding calling of Board meeting at a shorter notice
meeting can be called at shorter notice only when one Independent Director is present at the meeting
but if not present then decision must be circulated to all the directors present at the meeting and ratified by independent Director
In case of absence of independent Director (Company which are not required to appoint independent director)meeting can be called at a shorter notice for lesser than 7 days or restrictions as contained in the articles as the case may be without complying with the above requirements
