Bill of Entry(BOE) not appearing in IDPMS (Marked as 'Samples' by UPS)

Hello,

I had imported some samples from China last year and the shipper had dispatched the goods via UPS. But within few months of this shipment, my AD Bank started sending my email notices saying that in the said BOE, the AD Code of my Bank and IEC Branch Code is not mentioned. Because of this the said BOE was not appearing in IDPMS and that my IEC would be sent in to the Caution List. I had submitted all the relevant documents i.e BOE, Invoices etc. to the Bank after the material was received.

I had contacted UPS Customer Support last year and they said since in the BOE the Nature of Shipment was marked as 'Samples', the AD Code & IEC Branch Code is not mentioned in the BOE.

My bank does not accept this explanation and is sending me reminders to resolve this again.

What can I do?

Quick Summary
A user is facing an issue where their Bill of Entry (BOE) is not appearing in the IDPMS because UPS marked the shipment as 'Samples'. Their bank requires specific codes on the BOE and is threatening to put their IEC on a caution list. UPS claims the 'Samples' status prevents these codes from being included. The user is seeking advice on how to resolve this with their bank and UPS.

Meet the banking ombudsman, send all details and revert

Ideally if the UPS has submitted the import under samples that CBE - XII than the details would not have flown to bankers. Bankers will follow up for Bill of Entry only if an advance remittance has been made against the import shipment. However if as mentioned its sample please check if the bill of entry filed by UPS is of  CBE - XII - Goods and Samples category. There are lot many issues faced by Exporter and Importer while executing shipments thru courier. RBI will refer you back to banks only.
