Big four firms push IFRS education efforts

PwC unveils $700K grant, Deloitte readies materials

Big four firms continue their efforts to support developing and accelerating the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)-related curricula.

PricewaterhouseCoopers awarded $700,000 in grants to 26 colleges and universities, as part of an overall $1 million commitment to support IFRS education.

PwC earmarked the grants to:

    • Update primary instruction materials used in a two-semester intermediate accounting course
    • Transform course syllabi and textbooks to include IFRS
    • Enhance the focus on international business and accounting issues across the entire curriculum, with specific focus on incorporating IFRS topics into all levels of the accounting courses

Deloitte has made a complete set of IFRS course materials available through their IFRS University Consortium free to all colleges and universities. The materials feature on-campus lectures and transcriptts from Deloitte subject matter leaders, actual case studies and case solutions, among other materials.
