big 4 registration

Ya.. u r rite.. u ll get registered under the indian associate of the big 4 u r joining.. for example: If u r joinin Ernst & Young u ll be registered under S.R.Batliboi & Co.

Yes you are right, the Big Four cannot take part directly in all the Statutory work, So they get into agreements with other smaller firms. So this means that when you join for articleship with these firms you register under  another firm and do something such as Secondment under these big four.

But the thing is that, our institute maintains a norm that one cannot register under a CA Company but Firm..Since big4s are all companies, they maintain their individual firms to comply with ICAI norms..Hence when you are registered, you are registered with the firm and not the big4 company..

For eg: In PwC, you are not registertered with PwC but either Pw or L&L or D&S....

So if you are doing your articleship in any big4, it doesnt mean you are registered with someone else and your articleship is under someone else...
