Best Guidance Required

There can be many permutations & combinations if we speak in terms of: jobs ( job profile which CAs opt for- KPO, management, typical accounts wrk, audits, IT, Capital markets, banks, ERPs) student ( a really wide category of students opt for CA with different backgrounds & what the student will do if he/she is not doing artcileship..if they r doing self preparation/sum job/ wat kind of job/management studies/business), articleship ( wat is taught in tht artcileship , whr student does it - big 4s or 1 room CA office, wat kind of ex[posure is provided & HOW does it actually relate to the JOB tht student wants to do & does tht student even knw wat he/she is gonna do 3-5 yr frm the day they join artcileship) General answer is yes, it helps.. it helps as a fresh student gets to knw the office, wrk environment & wrk & wrk issues. However, there can be many a situations in which sumthing other is better than articleship..so it depends upon many a things there cannot be one universal answer for this question..lots of variety is thr....

Articleship is a must 4 our profession. This is what which differentiates our profession from the rest 3 yrs or may be 3 1/2 yrs of rigorous training nutures u well both as a professional and as  an individual. Never compromise on ur articleship. Bt a few things that u must consider before joining any firm :

1) The type of Exposure u can get in a firm like taxation or audit. The area you choose should purely depend  on which area u would like to pursue as a career in future.

2) The flexibility u can get in a firm to prepare 4 ur exams as like exam holidays, office hrs and other factors.

3) The type of firm u want to join like big,small or medium depending on the way u think it fit.

Bt yes to emphasize again articleship is the BEST thing in our C.A profession that keeps us way ahead of other professions. NEVER COMPROMISE ON UR ARTICLESHIP bt keeping some of the above factors in mind as mentioned above.

i think that articles s the best way for a student of CA to get exposure to the outside world

but one should be cautious in selecting the firm

bcoz the articles shouldn't cost at our ca preparation

wat do u say

if we don't take up articles then we don't know anything abt wat 2 do in the job

think and take a best decision

Hey Sindhu ya articleship is important for both who wants to practice as well as for those who wants to take up employment.

Why articleship is required if u want to take up employment in future ?

1) Articleship helps to build one as a professional. U may always decide in advance the area i.e audits or taxation u want to specialise and then join ur articelship. Moreover whatever knowledge (be it in taxation or audits) u gain in ur articleship is a MUST 4 anyone to get into any corporate. The requirements of different companies may differ and each company will prefer a candidate best suited to them based on the aricleship the candidate has undergone.

2) After completing C.A u would be looked as one who has got some insight about  some of the practical aspects of different audits  or taxation. Without articleship u'll feel urself left behind from ur other counterparts who had a reasonably good exposure in articleship.

3) Moreover it's the best thing that differentiates our profession from the rest and takes our profession way ahead of other professions.

4) U may also get to know abt various clients and may get a good social professional circle as well during articleship. It may help get u a good job as well.

Why articleship is needed 4 anyone who wants to practice in future ?

1) working in a firm u may get an insight what exactly is required of a C.A frim to practice efficiently.

2) U may also get an insight how to go about the various assignements that a C.A firm needs to undertake.

3) U may specialise in the area which interests u the most and try n develop skills reagsrding the same.

4) u may develop good social professional relations.

There should always be a balance between the studies and ur articleship so u can always look for a firm which provides u with the little flexibility to concentrate on ur studies as well. Coz we'll only be recognised once we Qualify as Chartered Accountants.
