Please suggest best books for self study CA final direct taxes and indirect taxes, and also tell if self study is better

yes self study is good option.
for IDT Bangur main book is good and for DT if u have time go with VG sir's all module or if u r short of time then go for BB sirs book n his revision lectures

for direct tax prefer Taxman publications books and for indirect Tax you may prefer yogendra Bangar vandna bangar books
